Home, Sweet Harrisburg

June 27, 2013
We made it home! The reception at the Fire House in Harrisburg was the perfect way to end our 2013 Falcon Nation Tour. We had a great time sharing our experiences with all of the alums and Messiah College staff who joined us. It was a great time of fellowship and laughter as we recounted the stories of carrying Fandango around cities, meeting with alums, getting lost, and finding some of the most fascinating places in America along the way. Though 22 days on the road can be absolutely exhausting, each individual we connected with along the way made it absolutely worth it. We are incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement we received during this tour and for each person who came to our events.

As we return to our routine and distance ourselves from luggage carts and hotel rooms, the enormity of the Falcon Nation Tour begins to settle in. In the past 22 days, we have met with hundreds of alumni, visited 16 cities and traveled through over 10 states. On the last day of our trip, we hit 7,000 miles and acquired one last bumper sticker for the back of Fandango. He now has over 20! As we reflect on the time spent with our alumni community outside of Grantham, we find comfort in knowing that although we are separated by distance, the common thread of Christian faith and commitment to service binds us together and creates friendships and connections that have lasted longer than four short years at Messiah College. We hope that the relationships fostered along our journey continue, and we are thankful for the opportunity we had to interact with all of you through the 2013 Falcon Nation Tour.

Until next time,

Michelle, Jay, Val, Brittany, Hannah and Fandango
