Want to know why we’ve got Georgia on our minds?

June 18, 2013
In one word, Georgia was enchanting. Because we made the trip from Grantham to Atlanta in one day, we had time before our dinner to take in the sights of the city. We began by taking Fandango downtown to visit Centennial Olympic Park. He enjoyed his time immensely and posed for multiple pictures.

What a ham. After the park, we headed over to the Georgia Aquarium to see a dolphin show. Although we couldn't take pictures at the show, we saw some other cute fish that didn't mind the flash photography quite as much.

All in all, our day went swimmingly (haha) the only wrench being the Atlanta traffic! Despite the seemingly unending traffic jams, we made it to the Horseradish Grill in time for dinner and we were lucky we did, because no one would have wanted to miss a minute with the alumni who joined us.

Lewis '66 and Joanne '67 Miller and Garrett '10 and Caitlyn Ridge were wonderful people and we loved catching up with them. We had a great time learning about how they ended up in Atlanta and the things they've been doing there. We were able to share in the excitement of Garrett who has just recieved his graduate degree from Clemson University and Lew who has just retired after working with the Boys and Girls Club of America for over a decade. It was encouraging to hear about the different Messiah alumni Lew and Joanne have interacted with over the years and we loved hearing what a great time Garrett and Caitlyn had on their last visit to Messiah. We were also provided with a great atmosphere and phenomenal food at the Grill. We would definitely call it a successful night! As we leave Atlanta behind and move on to Charlotte, we are excited to meet with more alumni and share in their stories, experiences and achievements.
