Chicago Has me Singing the Blues

June 7, 2013
Unbeknownst to us, we picked one of the best times to visit Chicago. We arrived just in time for the Chicago Blues Festival.  It is the largest free blues festival in the world and remains the largest of Chicago's Music Festivals. During three days on five stages, more than 500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the "Blues Capital of the World."

Our first stop of the Falcon Nation Tour was at Emilio’s Tapas in the North Side of Chicago.  We were warmly greeted by friendly staff in the Spanish decorated restaurant full of ambiance.

Alumni attending this gathering were treated to a wonderful three course tapas (little dishes) meal from award winning chef Emilio Gervilla.  The great food was paired with great conversations as alumni from various years found common ground in their experiences at Messiah.  It was such a great way to start of the trip!  We are sad to say goodbye to Chicago, but looking forward to the rest of the tour.
